Biography

 

Sandra graduated from the Conservatory of Parma under Jenni Anvelt before continuing

her studies with Lella Cuberli and Katia Ricciarelli. She was awarded a scholarship to attend

the “Accademia Lirica di Modena” where she trained with Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni,

and Raina Kabaivanska.  

 

She made her operatic debut in Rossini’s “La cambiale di matrimonio” and Pergolesi’s

“La serva padrona”, together with Alfredo Mariotti and broadcast by Italian television RAI 3.

Soon after, Mirella Freni invited her to perform in Gnecco’s “La prova di un’opera seria”

at the Teatro Comunale di Modena.  

 

Sandra has portrayed Donna Elvira in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Prague National Theatre

for the Prague Summer Festival and later sang Zerlina in the same opera at Austria’s

Gars Opera Festival. At the Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, she took on the title role in

Mozart’s “Zaide”, recorded for a Tokyo Broadcasting (TBS) documentary and in Venice was

Belinda in Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” at the Scuola Grande dei Carmini.  

 

Her concert highlights include Mozart’s “Requiem” with the Praga Sinfonietta (Prague’s Clementinum) and Haydn’s “The Creation” (Festival Vicenza in Villa).

 

As a recitalist and chamber musician, she has performed at Mantua’s Teatro del Bibiena (“Amici della Musica”, broadcast by SKY TV), Turin’s Settembre Musica with the Teatro Regio Ensemble, Estonia’s National Theatre, the Italian Embassy in Switzerland, “Bedburger Schlosskonzerte” in Cologne (Germany), Vienna Hofmannstahl Haus and across Asia (Taiwan, Korea, and China).
